Dr Matthew Hare

Matt moved to the Northern Territory in 2019 after undertaking advanced training at The Alfred and Monash Health in Melbourne. He is currently Staff Specialist and Clinical Lead of Remote Services in the Endocrinology Department at Royal Darwin Hospital. As a clinician-researcher with Menzies School of Health Research, his work focuses on understanding and addressing the intergenerational diabetes epidemic among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In these roles, he has visited numerous remote communities across the NT and the Torres Strait. He runs a telehealth clinic that receives referrals from more than 40 remote Aboriginal communities across the Top End. Matt currently serves as a board director for the Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society and is a member of the NT Diabetes Network and the Australian Diabetes Society Research Advisory Council.
